Who makes up the Hauraki Gulf Alliance?

The Hauraki Gulf Alliance began with the coming together of New Zealand’s foremost environmental organisations as we collectively realised that unless we stand together as one we will never see bottom trawling and dredging removed until the last fish or shellfish has disappeared. No matter what our political or cultural divides are, these fishing methods must stop. On that we agree.

These founding organisations make up the start of the Hauraki Gulf Alliance – LegaSea, New Zealand Underwater Association (NZUA), Greenpeace Aotearoa, Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society (Forest & Bird), The New Zealand Sport Fishing Council (NZSFC), Environmental Defence Society (EDS), WWF – New Zealand, The Environment and Conservation Organisations of New Zealand (ECO), New Zealand Angling and Casting Association (NZACA) Yachting New Zealand and the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS).

We invite you to join this Alliance whether you are a club, society, organisation or business.
